Review In Amazon- This book is perhaps the most important and insightful book on investing and an eternal classic. It is not a book that promises.

‘How to become rich…’ or ‘Mastering Stock market in a week….’ or ‘Beating the market made easy…’ or any shortcut to a quick buck. The book teaches three powerful lessons.

Review In Amazon- It was astonishing to see that one can stay with the company for decades together and you don’t need to churn again and again for better profit. The Scuttlebutt method was interesting and easy to apply. I was someone who doesn’t trade and this book is a strong recommendation for everyone who wants to create wealth.

Though this book was released in 1958 and this book stays strong even now. Warren Buffet was influenced by Phil Fischer and this helped Buffet in acquiring many successful companies.

Review In Amazon- The first thing is there are not so many books out there in India teaching investing especially concentrating on Indian Stock markets. A few fundamental analysis books out there… What makes this book a bit special is the simplicity of approach towards investing … The ways mentioned in the book might or might not help you get success in the stock market but it surely keeps you on the road to earning and learning more and more about the market and getting success at one point of your life. Kudos to the author.

Review In Amazon- The book takes you on a journey to Wall Street and market investing. On your journey, you will experience the do’s and don’ts of investing. It gives a glimpse of history and tries to prove the points using data.
If I summarize the advice from this book then I should say: Invest your core in Index funds and the amount of investment is personal and dependent on the point where you can eat well and sleep well.
Another maxim I liked was – You only get poor quicker, Becoming rich takes time. Worth reading 👍

Review In Amazon- This is a highly informative read for anyone who wants to learn the science of stock market investment.
It is far better to learn the science from the best, rather than reinvent the wheel on your own. Not only that would be highly inefficient, but also time-consuming and expensive.
It talks about when to purchase high PE stocks, and when not to purchase low PE stocks; how to analyze a company’s fundamentals, how to diversify, how to choose mutual funds, and many more things.
There are many secrets this book reveals, that can help make immensely better decisions on how to pick stocks.

Review In Amazon-  Simple language. Balanced narrative. Powerfully logical.
As a relative newbie to investing in equities, I find this book exceptional. The most important part is the convincing back-tested data and the reasons why the method performed during certain periods and didn’t in relatively shorter terms.
I would recommend this book to someone new to equity investing.

Review In Amazon- I have been amazed by this wonderful book on Investing that speaks of all the wrong notions and misconceptions about investing in stocks in an exceedingly amusing way while relishing the stock stories and imbibing the essence of sound investing practices, the author has effortlessly taken you across 300 pages “fairytale-like engrossing” and you haven’t once realized it until there aren’t any more pages left. It’s a rewarding treasure for sound investing practices and at the same time a serious threat to the popular fiction that will have to work hard to be nearly as amusing as this treatise on investing in stocks. Kudos to “Sir Lynch!”

These include buying distressed businesses, investing in spinoffs, focusing on niche markets, and investing in low-risk, high-return opportunities.

Review In Amazon- Late Parag Parikh has explained various facets of Value Investing and Behavioral Finance with an Indian perspective. He relied on the then research in behavioral finance and explained how that was applied in the Indian Equity Markets. As the book was written in 2009, the book does not cover developments in Indian Equity Markets after 2008 including the meltdown after the Global Financial Crisis of 2008. The book shows how value investing is to be applied by equity investors in India. The book also explains how the behavioral aspects affect investor’s decision-making and investment returns.

Review In Amazon- To be frank this was the first book I have read on stocks and while buying it I thought it would be a difficult read and would take many days to finish reading it. But credit to the author the book is so lucidly and attractively written that I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one go. It gives valuable insights into the functioning of the market, its fallacies pitfalls, and of course opportunities. However, it doesn’t tell much about how to select the right stocks and the background checks required to ascertain whether the company is growing strong or sinking.

Review In Amazon- This book was completely different than my investment philosophy. But I loved reading this for a couple of reasons:
1.) This book is based on Indian Market, usually very less books are written on Indian Market.
2.) This book emphasized a lot on earnings, and I also felt that earning is the king for the investor.
This book focuses on growth shares and tells you how one can get benefit from the growth shares.
I usually don’t follow this philosophy but you never know when you have to use this philosophy.

Review In Amazon- Babylon was the biggest city in the world about 4000 years ago. The wisdom of creating personal wealth narrated in old English (‘thee’, not ‘you’) is still a wonderful read. Easy and elegant, through multiple stories, the fundamentals shared still hold so true. Respect, value for one’s word, freedom of slaves, love for work, and the power of compounding – nothing in this book should surprise you. The narration holds your attention and the messages will deeply impact you. The last story is for young talented individuals – getting rich is not a magic wand. Are you happier with the boring and steady returns in the long run than a multi-bagger you can brag to your friends? Happy reading.

Review In Amazon- I’m giving this book 5 stars even though I’m only on page 26 because if the remainder of the book is like the first section, it’s going to earn my praise. If it doesn’t, I’ll come back and revise the stars awarded. I stopped here to offer this review because of something very personal included in his book: a letter from his wife explaining what she had to go through during the 15 years she had to endure on John’s journey.

It’s something every trader’s partner should read. I’ve never encountered this before, but I feel it shows the transparency John is affording his reader about his life as a trader.

Review In Amazon- It isn’t just a book but a thought-provoking roadmap for entrepreneurs and innovators. Insights on monopoly thinking, building a unique product, and navigating the startup landscape are nothing short of revolutionary. Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or a curious mind, this book is a must-read. Prepare to have your perspectives shifted and your entrepreneurial spirit ignited!

I believe this book is great for understanding some ways how to commence business as an entrepreneur, I believe it could have been said in fewer words but the learnings were profound.

Review In Amazon- This is my First Book bought on Warren Buffett and it was an Amazing read. I finished reading it in a Week. It explains complex concepts used by Warren Buffet himself along with Case Studies of the 9 Investments bought him in a very simple language that is very easy to understand.

The Tenets were an eye-opener as it shows how any Business can be evaluated. This book is a Must read as per Legendary Investor Mohnish Pabrai as well, and the book does justice in the way it is written. This book will help you create the building blocks to develop your methodology if you are keen on managing your own money as well.

Review In Amazon- If you want to navigate the world of mutual funds, this is where the buck stops. Excellent commentary on the merits of index funds. The best thing I like though is the lucidity in which the book explains and answers questions. It is natural to raise questions and have ideas as u start reading a book. Here, you shall get answers in a few pages, in the next chapters, and certainly before the book ends.

A book on the basic common sense required when it comes to investing. What is astonishing is people still do not understand how investing works and what to do.
